Wellness Visits

Wellness Visits are a proactive and preventative wellness service with an emphasis on providing information and resources to help maintain wellbeing over the course of one’s career and long into retirement.

A Wellness Visit is a confidential, periodic (often annual), visit with a qualified culturally competent clinician for the purpose of providing support for the first responder’s well-being. Important characteristics of a Wellness Visit include:

The most common wellness visit across agencies was mandatory (for sworn employees); occurred annually; lasted 50-60 minutes; took place at the department or a clinician’s office with options to attend on or off duty, in uniform or plain clothes, in personal or work vehicle; were paid for with department funds; and only confirmation of attendance was reported back to the agency after the visit (Panza, Kelly, & Walsh, 2024).

Schedule a Counseling Appointment

Employees, spouses and tax eligible household family members of contracted departments can call TCTI during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm) and speak with our scheduling department. The scheduler will ask a few questions about counseling needs and any preferences for the appointment. After the call, the employee (or spouse or tax eligible family member) will be emailed a packet to complete online before the appointment can be confirmed.
